Repurposing previously used magazine content to create new and unique ebook products.
I’m not much of a cook but I make up for it by my love of gorgeous food photography — so when Bon Appétit (the beautiful food magazine from Condé Nast). approached me about creating a series of ebooks, I was thrilled. I started off my career working on beautiful cookbooks so it felt like going back home — this time with a digital twist.
They wanted to create rewards for subscribers and decided to dive into their own rich archive of recipes. Over the years, they’ve accumulated thousands of recipes and wanted to give some new life by repackaging them into ebooks for their subscribers.
They compiled recipes on seasonal and regional themes, then I designed and produced unique covers and interiors to complement the themes that ranged from Summer Cookouts to Holiday Cookies. Based on the success of the ebooks — they did a further issue of several as printed promotional books.
